Partner Community

Hello, where is the partner community and why have I been waiting months to get access to it as a partner? @Raphael I’ve been pretty patient, but one of the reasons I chose WeWeb is the partner community and benefits. When can I expect to get access to it?

I think @Slavo is the person you want to talk with for partner-related stuff.

Nah, I’ve talked to Slavo about it. He’s not in charge of the partner community anymore. I’m interested in who is already in the new partner community. Are you, @dorilama?

I’m not part of weweb’s team.
I’m here only because I like weweb and being part of this public community :upside_down_face:

Glad you’re here, but It’s not for WeWeb corporate. The Partner Community is for agencies that use WeWeb.

Chill man, anyone who is a partner is most probably on this forum anyway :smiley: you can check all the partners on the landing page where we’re all listed.

This area is great for developers, but I’m a networker and the partner community offers me commercial comradery and benefits which is something that this portion of the community doesn’t do for me. I’m not here to talk about how A, B, C works in WeWeb. I’m here to talk about strategy, conversion, cost, hiring firing. The partner community is where that takes place.

Howdy, @Quentin I believe you are in charge of the partner community. Can you give us all some updates please?

I can’t speak for WeWeb, but my firm is a WeWeb partner. We’ve been using WeWeb for over a year, so I’m happy to share some context that might be useful for others wondering the same thing.

During our time with WeWeb, the WeWeb team maintained a community of power users on Slack. They later deprecated that platform and introduced a specific partner community on Discord (which I see you’re a part of). However, as of two months ago, they discontinued the Discord community and created a private section in this forum exclusively for partners, which I believe you’re referring to.

This would be nice. However, the reality is that the new format here doesn’t appear to be conducive to the type of partner activity you’re referencing.

While I’m sure WeWeb will grant you access to the new community, for context, there have been four posts with a total of four responses since its inception two months ago; you haven’t missed much.

Well, this is a fun thread!

@dorilama : Yes, I do partner-related stuff.
@gradyandersen : You already have an account because you are here. You need access to the agency channel - and that @Quentin manages that. Q → Please give Grady access.
@Broberto: Yes, let’s all chill!!!
@caffeinatedwes: Your observation is fair!

As we scale, we try different things; some work well, some don’t. In the old days, we had a Slack channel for the “expert users” but we retired it because it was a hodge-podge of users and use cases, it lacked focus.

So, we created the Discord channels focused on Partners/agencies only. But, we very quickly learned that it was becoming too focused in the sense the people were asking or discussing topics that were already covered here, in the community. There was a lot of duplication and frankly, many Partners/Agencies flat-out told us they will NOT use Discord for various reasons. Also, we wanted everyone to benefit from the Office Hours, not just the Partners/agencies.

Therefore, we decided on another change.

  • Bring everyone to the Community
  • Create a private channel for Partners/Agencies in this Community
  • Open the Office Hours to everyone.

And that is where we are today.

Does it work? Yes. Is it perfect? No. While you can perfectly accomplish the networking aspect here @gradyandersen - and with a much wider audience, this environment is admittedly not great for one-to-one communications between the Agencies/Partners and WeWeb. For that purpose, I invite all Partners/Agencies to a shared Slack Channel with us for direct communication → and we already operate a few.

Thank you for the feedback, everyone!
We can do better, and we try our best but I don’t think anyone has a blueprint for a perfect environment - we certainly don’t. So we keep on tweaking…

And apologies to @gradyandersen I know it is taking forever but @Quentin will take care of you.

@gradyandersen, I added you to the Partner channel in this community.

Thank you for chiming in, Slavo. I completely understand things are a work in progress.

I didn’t know about this. Would you mind inviting myself to that channel, please?

Yeah me too I would be very interested to be invited into the slack !
