đź‘‹ Say Hello to New Elements!

Hey everyone,

We’ve released several nifty and AI-friendly elements!

Check out what’s new :backhand_index_pointing_down:

:counterclockwise_arrows_button: Display loading placeholders with Skeleton Loader

Add a Skeleton Loader element for a smoother transition from the loading state to the fully loaded state. Skeleton Loader mimics the structure and visuals of the entire view.

:spiral_calendar: Flexible Calendar element

We’ve released a new and AI-friendly Calendar element! It offers multiple view options, event management capabilities, and extensive customization to fit your specific requirements.

Here are some of the things you can do:

  • Display multiple view types: year, month, week, day, and list views.‍
  • Add interactive features such as event selection, view switching, and date navigation.
  • Customize colors, fonts, and dimensions.
  • Prompt WeWeb AI to generate the Calendar element and tweak it manually or with re-prompting.

And more!

:file_folder: More powerful File Upload element

The File Upload element now comes with more pre-configured properties that you can customize more easily. It supports both single and multiple file uploads with interactive drag-and-drop functionality, file validation, and extensive customization options to match your design system.

You can select if the upload type should be single or multiple files, enable or disable the drag & drop feature, define minimal and maximal file size, set allowed file types, and more!

:stopwatch: Visually display Timeline

The Timeline element provides a flexible and customizable way to display chronological events, project milestones, or historical data. It supports both vertical and horizontal layouts with full control over markers, connectors, and event positioning.

Drag & drop a Timeline element. Split it into multiple activities, and add timestamps. Customize size, color, and icons as you see fit.

Great, that we have a more customizable calendar now! It seems like the “all-day” string is still not localizable, though. Could you add this, so it is customizable like the list of customizable button labels?

Looks like it was released without the possibilities for localisation. Could you confirm if this will be coming at a later point?

Nice! I was long awaiting for a timeline component.
I see it’s not possible to dynamically change marker’s color and icons, is that correct?
I would like to change these properties depending on the event type in the same timeline… not possible at all at the moment?

These are great updates!

For the file uploader - is there a file size maximum limit inherent to the component? I’ll be storing the files in uploadcare so would be using the binary or base64 option

One other ask - can you make the file name in the uploaded files list optionally editable? Often, my users upload a file with an unhelpful name and like to update it to something that makes more sense.
