WeWeb App's resizing speed

Hey there,

On the published app, when dragging my browser from my laptop to my bigger monitor the window resizes itself (as intended). However, the published app is very slow at resizing itself and completely freezes in doing so.

Additionally, when going to my app on an iPad - flipping from horizontal to portrait, the app completely freezes for about 10 seconds until the resizing has processed. Of note - on an iPad the horizontal orientation falls into the Desktop bin, whilst the portrait one falls into the Tablet one. However, minor resizing like moving Chrome from a desktop monitor to another desktop monitor still suffers from that lag.

Are you guys aware and working on something for it in the future? Or am I the only one having this issue?

This can be quite immersion breaking on an iPad that your turn from horizontal to portrait and vice versa, so for now is there a way I can “bypass” the automatic display assignments of WeWeb and manually apply JavaScript/CSS constraints for responsiveness?

Hi @aeynaud

I’m not aware of this issue but have reached out to the tech team to ask if it’s something they’re aware of on their side.

Could you send me a link to your project in private so I can pass it onto them to investigate?

Hi @Joyce, merci beaucoup!
I will reach out with a link, and a short loom video as well if that can help.

Hi @aeynaud

We are indeed working on performance improvements that will be released soon and hopefully help with your issue.

In the meantime, could you try using a fixed height on the row and the “cells” of your table?

This is not specifically related to WeWeb but having a lot of auto height can greatly reduce the performances of an app due to the browser rendering.

Oh alright, I will see how it goes! Thank you for the heads up
