I started promoting WeWeb as an affiliate on my blog / newsletter recently, which I run while building my own project with WeWeb.
While I see the first referral registrations coming in, it is a bit frustrating to see the 12-month period running, even if there was no payment made from a user so far.
According to the current terms,
WeWeb pays the referral % as long as the new customer is subscribed to a WeWeb paid plan with a maximum payout time frame of 12 months (Note: Agency plan holders do not have a 12 month limitation on payout timeframes).
From my own experience, building an MVP with WeWeb can take months before upgrading to a paid plan.
Therefore, I`d like to suggest changing the referral terms from “12 month starting from signup” to some different approach, where the time period only starts with the first payment. Alternatively, a signup-based model (lead based) would also work. The current situation, however, does not feel right to me.
Here is a good example by make.com:
Eligible subscription fees shall be the first twenty-four (24) subscription payments received by us for Make Services from the End User referred to us by Affiliate via the Link, provided such subscription payments are received within twenty-four (24) months from the date on which the End User first registers with us via the Link.
Hope this is something the WeWeb team would like to consider.
