Hello everyone, I need your input again. We are looking for an application in which I can create a PDF from Weweb via Xano. We started creating our templates with pdf generator api. That worked great too. Now we have the problem that we are sending text that has HTML tags. SINCE we are not high-end professionals, this was exactly the right thing for us. But Generator API cannot work with the HTML tags and the document is not displayed properly. According to the Generator API, there is currently no way to properly display longer texts with formatting. Does anyone of you know an application that can do this? If we can’t do that, our entire application will be useless. I’m a little desperate and would be grateful for any help. Because we have finally come a long way with Weweb and it is now in danger of failing.
Hi @Raab112
I’m not sure how we can help here. Wouldn’t this be a question for the PDF Generator API team?
A quick look at their website tells me they expect data in a JSON format. It also says “Convert HTML to PDF” so I don’t understand why it wouldn’t work with the HTML tags of your project as you mention
Perhaps you can tell us more about where you’re stuck and show us a few screenshots or a video of what you’ve tried so far?
I’m not entirely clear on your issue, but I’ve been quite happy using CraftMyPDF and Xano. My app generates quite complicated reports with many nested parent/child tables and images.
Full disclosure, I originally used AirTable and Craft and moved the data using Make.com. After switching to Xano, I just modified my existing Make scenarios. At some point I’ll send data straight from Xano to Craft, just have higher priorities right now.
Have a look at PDF.co or PDFMonkey.io

We are in communication, but the first feedback was that the generator api unfortunately cannot work with HTML tags that we need u, b, li etc. Basically we have documents as a template in which the headings always remain the same and the formatted text should simply be inserted underneath. But according to the chat the generator api can’t. And I haven’t been able to get an appointment yet. Since we are running out of time, I want to examine other options at the same time.
Ah ok, got it!
Well then perhaps the options proposed by @dsturnerville and @ericp would be a better fit.
I found a few other community posts referencing other options (here and here) but they seem more technical
Thanks for your replay. We have look it and test it now. I hope the product work good. Then we have a way.
Hello, I wanted to give quick feedback on your tip. This one was really worth its weight in gold. A great application CraftMyPDF with the help of which we are now launching our system and will soon start the test phase with our customers. Without your tip it would have taken us a long time to find a solution. A big thank you for this.
Hi Weweb Devs.
I’ve put together a detailed guide on how to generate custom PDF documents seamlessly using WeWeb, Xano, and PDFMonkey
