The marketplace was only recently launched, so while the current selection is a bit limited, it’s expanding every week!
As for UI kits, I know that @Micah and @stevedesignerd are both currently accepting beta applications for their kits, which will eventually be available on the marketplace.
I believe having a range of comprehensive UI kits to choose from will really help accelerate WeWeb’s growth and lower the barrier to entry, especially since the current Figma plugin leaves something to be desired.
But I agree as the marketplace matures and the selection grows, it could certainly benefit from a revamp to add in features like categories, filters, reviews, etc.
In particular, reviews / ratings could help discourage users from submitting lackluster templates like some of the ones that currently exist in the marketplace (although to be fair, most are free and still better than starting from a completely blank slate).
Once you see some of the UI kits in the works I think you’ll get excited about the future of the Marketplace!
If you’re interested in a component library, DM me and I would love to show you what’s cooking!
Unfortunately, the WeWeb Marketplace has been broken since launch. There have been many many bugs. Even now, despite accepting submissions, sellers based in the US cannot sell templates. Support has been slow to fix things in the past, and I’ve had a template that hasn’t been able to be purchased for several months now.
Bundle this with the fact that WeWeb takes a 20% fee for a broken platform-- I don’t see any substantial templates being sold for quite some-time unfortunately.
One day i will free some time to polish a old design system i will probably ending up if i took the time, submiting it to the marketplace full open-source and customoziable without too much pain or else ! But yeah for now will have to wait i’m afraid !
