Endpoint disconnects (Xano)

Steps to reproduce:

Setup Xano plugin and add Meta API key (which is using the default front end weweb perms)

Setup all the mappings in WeWeb, including the Endpoint and the field bindings.

Wait some unspecified time and come back in. Endpoint is no longer connected and all fields say the table doesn’t exist anymore.

Try to refresh the endpoint.

It’s not there.

Refresh the API group

Endpoint usually repopulates but sometimes I need to refresh it to get it back.

Field mappings come back.

This is happening repeatedly for no reason I can figure.

The Meta API key in Xano is set to never expire .

Things I’ve tried:

Removed the Xano plugin and reinstalled /reconfigured it with a new Meta API key

No change.

Hi, we’re working for an update to fix this issue. Hopefully soon, we’ll communicate :folded_hands:t4:

Hi Rivan

I would like to understand if it’s a total blocker for a stack that is integrating with Xano?

I’ve been spinning my wheels for more than a week and I think this was root cause. Don’t want to spin my wheels more.

Thank you

Hi, it’s not a total blocker since there’s a workaround, though we understand it can be inconvenient for now.

We understand the frustration if it keeps happening, but this is the only workaround available until we have a fix released. We’re hopeful to have it soon, but we also have other items in our backlog — urgent, important, and long-awaited — alongside our standard processes. Please know we’re doing our best.

Cheers.

fyi the workaround I mentioned above is the one showed on the video which is:

click refresh at the api group then refresh at the endpoint. This usually show the endpoints back again :folded_hands:t4:

Users can’t manually refresh the endpoint when their form submission doesn’t work, so that’s not a workaround, Rivan. :-/

I’m having a hard time understanding why this wouldn’t be an on-fire P1 given that so many people recommend WeWeb for the front and Xano for the back.

And it’s breaking multiple times per day.

I can’t use this for production.

I’m still in the evaluation phase of WeWeb and this response concerning.

I had a similar issue with the endpoint list randomly not showing up in the editor a few months ago. It required reaching out to Xano support to help with changing something with the metadata api settings.

fwiw, it only effected the WeWeb editor functionality. Endpoints that were already setup and used in workflows in my deployed production app were not effected by the issue.

Hi Rivan,
I can’t see the workaround that you recommend.
I also face this issue. I hope you will release the fix soon :folded_hands: :flexed_biceps:

please see the video above; At the second video, minute 0:20.

  1. Refresh the Api Group
  2. Refresh the Endpoints

usually this works.
