Unable to change billing currency from USD to INR

New to weweb not to development, I started with the free version and decided to upgrade to essential but accidentally clicked pay in USD instead of local INR (Indian Rupee). But now realizing that it’s irreversible by the user and needs assistance from customer support.

I reached out to support that and they said that profile in stripe was changed to INR. Unfortunately, nothing changed on my end the billing still shows USD payment.

Now, weweb customer “support” has thrown their hands up and saying they can’t help me with this anymore. Simply closing the ticket as resolved, even when it is not.

I have a week’s worth of development, that I do not want to lose. Otherwise opening another account is the simplest solution. Does anyone have any direct resolution or even a workaround to “move” my work to a different without losing the workspace??

Hi there, it was me who you talked to and I explained to you exactly what is going on and what you should try as a solution. I invite you to try the steps I suggested and see if that will solve your currency problem.

Now, for the benefit of the community: If you want to take advantage of the regional pricing, these conditions must be met:

  1. You must be physically in the country
  2. You must have a credit card issued by the bank in the country
  3. The card must be issued in the regional currency.

The problem is that network you are on might be on a VPN with an IP address that is not from the country of the regional currency and in that case, USD pricing will be offered as default. This does not happen very often but sometimes it does.

There is nothing we can do about this from our side. The only option is to go and try some other network.

Thank you for staying on this. I’m not on any VPN, just using from regular ISP at home. And yes, to all three points that you listed. I have found a workaround - created new workspace and that defaults to INR while the old one still hangs on to USD.
I understand your limitations on this issue. I have problems paying USD (limitations with my bank), I hope you understand.
IF it’s possible to move the project from old workspace to new one, the problem would be resolved.
