UI Kits in Figma

Do I understand correctly that when Figma to WeWeb becomes available, we will be able to use UI Kits like untitledui.com, stratisui.com, and others, creating in Figma and importing to WeWeb?

I saw the Twitter post about it, but see that it’s Under Review on the roadmap.

What quarter is it most likely expected?

Thanks for all your work on this product.

We’re trying to improve the Figma to WeWeb plugin as the first alpha version wasn’t understood by users. We’ll keep you updated on when it becomes available.

But it would be possible yes!

What is the status of this now? Are we able to use untitled ui or other ui kits in weweb?

I use Untitled UI pretty extensively and unfortunately the figma plugin doesn’t help much. Importing colors and other styles takes as much work as inputting it manually.

I have a published template on the marketplace that takes great inspiration from Untitled UI if you’re looking for a head start. It has the core color library, spacings, components etc all with a familiar look and feel as Untitled.

Thanks for this @Micah - It looks promising. I do see value in what you’ve done and will purchase this if you end up adding more building blocks like cards/panels, etc. This is a great start though and very much appreciated.

@Micah I second what @West415 said - do you plan on adding additional components like tables, cards, etc?

I’m currently working on a system to allow for a lot more! @West415 @ryanev

Right now I currently have a stockpile library of…

  • Alerts
  • Avatars
  • Badges
  • Buttons
  • Charts
  • Checkboxes
  • Checkbox Groups
  • Dropdowns
  • Icons
  • Inputs
  • Loaders
  • Misc Icons
  • Slide Out Menus
  • Tabs
  • Tags
  • Toast Notifications
  • Toggles
  • Dividers
  • Tooltips

Still working on refining them all for a lot of options! For example, the single tab component has the following styles that you can change through a dropdown…

Same thing with every other component- each is quite extensive with options!

I’m also nearing completion of a full chat section. Almost everything is a component (using dropzones, there are about 12 nested components for finetuning each object if desired), so UI configuration takes about 5 minutes to get the look below!

I’ll likely have different templates that contain different elements, depending on the user’s needs. One might include basic components, another for chat components and so on.

Once this is out, styling your component with your colors/font with also be determined by binding one variable-- it takes about 5 seconds to adapt a component to your brand!

Let me know the components you guys are looking for though, with images! Would love to get feedback on what people are looking for.

Edit: Send component suggestions here: https://coda.io/form/Untitled-Form_d7sh_7uVsRe

This is going to be absolutely amazing! Will definitely purchase as soon as it’s available. Just submitted some suggestions.

@Micah do you have an ETA on when you think you’ll be releasing?

I’m not too sure about an ETA unfortunately. It’s a ton of work and I still need to gather more interest to make sure this is a viable project.

I might see if I can connect with some WeWeb staff to figure out if I can do some sort of beta! If I can get that going, I’ll let you know  @ryanev

Micah, I’d be interested if you developed further elements. Thanks for your work!

Agreed!

@Joyce @Raphael is there any potential for WeWeb to financially incentivize talented individuals like @Micah to come to market sooner with great resources like this?

I know the Marketplace is just kicking off and starting to build traction, but this would be a way to really accelerate and encourage the development of templates and components like this. And would likely be more cost effective than hiring someone internally to build more templates out…

It’s a truly symbiotic relationship, a UI kit like Micah’s would help attract more paying users to WeWeb. :grinning:
