Another week, another round of updates!

Here’s what’s new :backhand_index_pointing_down:

:shield: New AI guardrails: protect the resources AI shouldn’t touch

You could already protect your Design System from changes made by WeWeb AI and MCP. Now, those guardrails extend across your project.

On Pro and Partner plans, you can protect pages, sections, components, workflows, variables, formulas, tables, views, APIs, and more.

Protected resources stay visible to AI for context, so agents can understand your project without being able to modify them.

Protections also cascade: protect a page and its sections, elements, and page workflows are covered too. Protect a table and its views are covered automatically.

You can manage all protected resources in one place under Settings → Agent permissions → Protected resources:

Protections only restrict AI agents. You can still edit protected resources manually whenever you want.

:compass: New project-level actions for AI

WeWeb AI & MCP can now act on your project itself, not just what’s inside it. You can now ask AI to:

  • Check deployment history. See what’s live on production and staging, which version was published, by whom, and when.
  • Explain a failed publish. Get an explanation of what went wrong based on your deployment logs.
  • Create a backup. Back up your pages, design system, and frontend workflows before a risky change.
  • Restore a backup. AI backs up your current work first, so you can undo the rollback if needed.
  • Duplicate a project. Copy your pages, design system, and frontend workflows with a single request. (Support for backend duplication is coming soon)
  • Switch to preview. Jump straight to preview when the work is done to see the result.

:spiral_calendar: New integration: monday.com

If your team manages projects in monday.com, you can now build client portals and internal tools around those boards directly in WeWeb.

Give customers a place to follow project updates, or build a focused interface for teammates to add requests and update work. Your app can read from and write back to monday.com.

WeWeb AI and MCP can help you build it. Just describe the experience you want using the boards you already have.

:credit_card: New Stripe customer actions and table views

You can now give your team a place to find and update Stripe customers directly inside your app.

Display customers in a table, filter them by email or creation date, and use workflows to create or update customer records in Stripe.

:abacus: Sort and filter by Formula columns

Formula columns in WeWeb Tables can now do more than display calculated values. You can sort and filter your table by their results, just like with other columns.

Already using Formula columns? They’ll keep working as they are, or you can migrate them in one click to unlock sorting and filtering.

:robot: Improvements to WeWeb AI and MCP

  • Auth0 and OpenID sign-in flows - Describe how users should sign in, and WeWeb AI and MCP can now help build the flow with Auth0 or OpenID Connect.
  • Supabase and Xano table views - WeWeb AI and MCP can now list, create, and edit table views for Supabase and Xano projects without requiring a WeWeb backend.
  • Clearer AI run status - The chat now reflects when an AI run has ended, instead of leaving you waiting on “Thinking…”.
  • Large workflow lists - WeWeb AI and MCP can now list backend workflows without timing out, even on projects with lots of workflows.
  • Project and page lookup - MCP finds projects by name or URL more reliably. If AI references a nonexistent page, it gets a clear error and the available pages to help it recover.
  • Clearer error feedback - WeWeb AI and MCP now receive more specific explanations when an action fails, helping them understand what went wrong.
  • Cleaner, dedicated MCP docs - Find setup guides, available tools, and tips in the new MCP docs.

:hammer_and_wrench: Other improvements & fixes

  • Edit custom Auth columns - You can now change custom Auth column settings like names, types, default values, and rules.
  • OpenID setup - Test login directly from the editor, return to your app after logout, and see the redirect URI to register for each environment when connecting your provider.
  • Retired AI models - AI workflows using WeWeb Cloud now flag models that are no longer available, making it easier to choose a replacement. Retired models are also removed from the picker for new workflows.
  • Publishing extensions - Apps can now publish with extensions that require different versions of the same supporting library.
  • Subdomain changes - Your project’s editor and published app stay in sync when you rename a WeWeb subdomain and then switch it back.
  • Self-hosted database changes - The WeWeb CLI now guides you through resolving changes such as column renames when generating a database migration.
  • Reusable animations - Elements saved to Assets now preserve their animations and transitions, including child elements tied to a parent’s hover state.
