Reverting to previous version (backup) only affects production environment, what version in the editor?

So I had to revert a live app to a previous version (backup) and noticed that it only reverted the production environment (version 73). The staging environment is still on the later version that needs to be discarded (version 74).

Now if I open the editor, am I going to be editing the version 73 or 74?

It is not possible to backup the editor version. So you will be editing the version 74 in the editor.

Thanks Aurelie.

This is quite problematic actually, enough that I think the term “backup” is actually misleading here.

Not being able to restore the editor version and loosing edit history actually defeats a good portion of the value that a backup brings to the table in terms of risk management.

It’s not yet clear to me how to approach the development lifecycle of a live production app in weweb in a safe manner. Maybe I’m missing something, or maybe the good stuff is still in the works and yet to come

In any case, I would be grateful of any recommendations you would have on that front to do the best we can with the current state of things.

Since this post is from two years ago and there hasn’t been any recommendation since - has there been any update in the past two years in this regard?

How can we rollback to/restore an earlier version in the editor and deploy it?

You can backup the editor state and restore a previous version.
