Paid plan required to import custom code components into a free plan project?

Hi,

I’m new to WeWeb. So far I really love it. I want to learn how to build custom components for weweb sites. However, it seems like you need a paid plan to import them into a project, is that correct? I checked the developer docs but I couldnt see anything. I have read in a few posts like this one so Im assuming so. If this is the case, does anyone know why a paid plan is required? I understand why payment is required for all the other features, but importing a custom code component seems like something most developers will want to try before investing into a platform. Especially when the components are all open source… For comparison, other sites do allow this, like Framer or even Salesforce (and they charge for everything!)

Thanks

I have to agree here - only from the perspective that I think WeWeb should put zero friction on custom components - building or importing, etc. maybe when marketplace finally appears some things will shift.

I already opened this topic too many times, WeWeb won’t do anything about this, it’s a part of their business model apparently.

Shame  Im sure they have their reasons but it seems like an odd decision. How are people supposed to understand if weweb is a viable solution if they can’t build a POC. They’re likely missing out on some network effects with people sharing custom creations on Twitter etc too… WeWeb if you’re reading this can you at least put a note in the developer docs so people know before diving in?
