Is this speed rating normal or do I have homework BEFORE publishing?

Hi all,

How is it possible to have a VERY BASIC webpage (with some rich text and 1 picture of approx. 150kb, NO data collections) for mobile score so bad on PageSpeed Insights?

According to PageSpeed the main cause is efficiency of JavaScript, which I suppose is core to Weweb and out of my reach - correct?

Can anyone help me understand what is causing this - and whether or not I should take action BEFORE publishing? Or does publishing it to a private domain resolve anything?

I have no clue if it makes any difference, but I currently have the Weweb Starter subscription - which I intend on keeping unless there’s a specific reason to upgrade.

I enabled pre-rendering:

WeWeb’s primary focus is building web apps, not marketing sites. WeWeb is still very performant in production, but won’t perform as well on benchmarks. Your scores seem to be consistent with what I’ve seen.

Hi @Micah and Weweb,

Thanks - so what is the solution? Could publishing to a local domain resolve this issue? Or is self-hosting required for a change in performance?

Thijs

If you’re highly reliant on those scores, you’d be best to use another platform like Framer or Webflow. Self hosting wouldn’t make a difference.

Ok thank you for clarifying, at least I know what to expect - and no homework is required prior to publishing.

Luckily, I’m not highly reliant on these scores
