Input Select - How to edit default options

I’m confused as to how to manipulate the input select component.

1. When the drop-down is open, there are 2 default options but notice on the Layout section it only shows 1 Option text. Help me understand.

2. How do change the actual text from saying option - 1 or option 2? There is no text click here to edit box like normal Text elements, why?

3. The next question would be, how do I add a 3rd option? I see in the variables tab there are 2 input select options, would a 3rd be created when I make a 3rd option?

Please see photo below. Thank you for any assistance. This is a little frustrating; I found no documentation on this, leading me to think this must be a simple component.

The options are customized inside the settings of the “input select” component itself

Also, to change the background color of the dropdown list, you need to change it inside the option in “Option text”
