Hi I am creating marketplace website with Weweb for front end and Xano for backend.
I heard about Plasmic recently. Has anyone tried using this? what would be pro and con compared to weweb?
Page speed is very important for us and one interesting thing about Plasmic is that they have SSR
I wouldn’t build any SEO and performance critical apps on WeWeb, I had tens of people coming to me to consult who are disappointed about the current state of the SEO and performance. Plasmic I’m not sure, last time I checked them out, they were running on React, but yeah, no idea, I don’t like React.
Performance is decent for Dashboards / Single Page Apps, one has to sacrifice performance for the flexibility and power WeWeb gives them. As for the SEO and performance for something like a marketing page, I heard Toddle is pretty fast and they have SSR, the only thing is that their logic/editor while very UX friendly, is quite heavy on “clicking” which is slow and tedious. They built this framework for people who don’t care about speed at the condition they don’t have to code or know any JavaScript.
If you want peak performance and great SEO while having a Web App, it’s either Toddle and click yourself to death, or real code. I’ve developed some Vue.js dashboards already and it’s incomparable to WeWeb (funny enough, since WeWeb also runs on Vue), much more powerful performance wise. But that’s no longer no-code. As I said, you gotta sacrifice something to get something else.
