Google Sheets - multiple collections

Hi,

is it possible to add multiple data-collections (in one Weweb-project) from one Google Sheet with different tabs?
So far, I could only add one collection (with the GSplugin), referring to one GS-tab

When I try to add a new collection, I can’t select a second tab from my GS

Hi @WimDC :waving_hand:

When creating a collection using the Google Sheets data source, you should be able to see all the sheets from the spreadsheet you selected when adding the plugin:

Is that not the case for you?

Hi,

I deleted and re-added the GS-plugin and now I see the different sheets of my Google Sheet datasource.
I must have done something wrong a few days ago. So problem solved.

But… when I add a new sheet in my GS, this is not visible in Weweb.

How can I “refresh” the structure of my GS so I also see the new added sheet(s) ?

Thanks !!

Wim

Hey @WimDC :waving_hand:

I don’t think you need to do anything.

I just created a sheet3 in my GSheets and can see it in WeWeb:

Can you try refreshing the page to see if that solves the issue for you?

Hi @Joyce ,

indeed, after some refreshing and reconnecting the GSPlugin with my Google Account, the new sheet is also visible.

Thanks for helping !

Wim

Hi @Joyce ,

I noticed that after a while, Weweb is no longer connected with the GSheet and I have to sign-in again.
This seems to be an existing bug since sept 2023 (see Google sheets : forced to log in frequently ) but seems not to be solved.

Is there a solution?

And how can a user sign-in when the project is deployed (and installed) as a PWA on his phone or tablet ?

Wim

Indeed, this will be fixed in a few weeks when we release our new Google Sheets plugin  Note that the sign-in is for the person building the WeWeb app, not for the end-users of the app you are building. The fact that you have to reconnect the WeWeb project is a bug but should not affect the app in production, i.e. the end users of the app you publish should not be impacted.

I don’t understand your question. Sign-in where? Sign in to WeWeb or to your app? If you want people to sign in to your app, you need to install an authentication plugin and sign up flow in your WeWeb project. This will work on the PWA version of the app as well.

Does that make sense?

Hi Joyce,

The bug in the current GS-plugin DOES have impact. This morning, I reconnected the plugin, data from my GSheet was visible on my computr and I deployed again (to pwa).

On my phone, I could see the same data (coloured numbers in image_1) but after a few hours no data was fetched (see image_2)

So, looking forward to the new GS-plugin to use in my new project.
Are there new features in this new plugin or just bug-fixes?

My second question isn’t relevant anymore as you mention that end users are not impacted by the “automatic disconnecting” with the GS. I was wondering how end users had to sign in to reconnect, but they don’t have to.

Met een vriendelijke groet,
