📣 All-New Figma Import, Improved Currency Input & Better Formula Generation

From smoother Figma import to flexible Currency input and better formula generation, this release is packed with amazing updates!

Check out what’s new :backhand_index_pointing_down:

:artist_palette: Easier & more reliable Figma import

We’ve improved the way you bring Figma designs into WeWeb :rocket:

Now you get:

:small_blue_diamond: Reduced manual work post-import.

:small_blue_diamond: Greater control over mapping and adjustments.

:small_blue_diamond: A unified, consistent workflow instead of two separate import processes.

:small_blue_diamond: Flexible imports with clear mapping of colors, images, and fonts.

You can import your designs through a guided flow in the WeWeb Editor using Figma’s Builder plugin.

Check out the video for step-by-step instructions: Seamless Figma to WeWeb Workflow

Improved Number & Currency inputs

Now, you can choose “Currency” as an input type and adjust it to fit your requirements:

:dizzy: Set the currency symbol: position it left or right, or remove it entirely.

:sunflower: Customize the symbol: choose your own, define color, adjust font size, and spacing.

:linked_paperclips: Define thousand and decimal separators.

And more!

Check out our docs to learn more about.

:hammer_and_wrench: Better formula generation with WeWeb AI

WeWeb AI tended to generate inaccurate and inconsistent formulas.

We’ve improved context handling for this action, and formula generation is now more accurate and reliable.

And we would love to hear your feedback on the improvements :slightly_smiling_face:

That’s all for now!

Big thanks for the currency input!

Have a task in my backlog to make a custom component for that. Now I have one less task

Hey, can you please explain what you mean by mapping assets?

Figma import looks really nice! Great work! But one question, will you get ride of this design divs that are holding the actual styling instead of the weweb component? this makes editing really weid and also unnecessarily increases the whole page size etc..

hi @Tamara

neither “reset variable value” NOR “change variable value” worklow works for “Currency as an Input Type”

is it a bug?

I want to import colors and typographies from Figma to WeWeb. I found this documentation page but the new import function in WeWeb using builder.io inputs does not accept the results of the WeWeb plugin in Figma.

How do I do it if I want to import colors and typography from an entire figma project but not a design?

Hey @kenboer, this is not possible anymore with the current version of our Figma integration since it is working with the builder.io plugin. However, we are now working on creating our own WeWeb-Figma plugin and plan to enable this. This plugin should hopefully be available by the end of July.

@Raphael Thank you. A few hours after posting this I figured as much and tried using the builder.io plugin. I signed up for a paid Figma account (required to use the Builder.io plugin) and followed the steps in Matthew’s video but kept getting an error that it was not in the right format. I filed a help ticket. I’m not sure if others are having the same problem.

odd! @DanielL and @rivan_sigarlaki will help with that

Hi @kenboer

Please try classic export instead of smart export. Should work.

Thanks. Not sure how I missed that.
