What Features Do You Want to See in Weweb This Year?

Google Calendar and Google Sheets components for platform users, not just for Database purposes.

More payment options like Paddle and LemonSqueezy would be awesome.

Yeees

Better integration with off-the-shelf NodeJS packages. Right now it’s unusable.

Hey everyone, thank you for this great input! I just want to manage the expectations - we are not “approaching the conclusion of the V3 rollout, with just a few bug fixes remaining”.

We have lots of issues to fix and we will be rolling out massive improvements to WeWeb AI over the next few weeks. WeWeb AI has been a massive hit and thanks to the fantastic response and feedback from users we have very good clarity on what we need to improve there.

I’d like the AI to work

Yeah, focus on just making that AI do something useful. Thanks.

I wish I could find this funny but I think it is sadly the reality. They just pushed providing any new enterprise support customers 2-3 months out after saying mid Feb. I have a pretty good guess of what milestone they are gunning for with the AI co-pilot - but I don’t think they have fully digested the fact that the Ai copilot will never be “done”.

From my personal perspective - it’s very hard to watch. They are a YC company with Lightspeed on their cap table - experiencing rapid growth. It’s literally a couple emails for them to get a term sheet with a great valuation in the current market and add $10M to $20M worth of gas in the tank and attract top talent to scale at the pace they NEED to scale at in the current market. There is a reason why lovable.dev just raised $15M with literally more than 2 years of runway in cash in their bank account.

As far I’ve experienced (not a lot indeed), but I’ve the feeling that the components we create within WW are pretty limited in term of customisation.

So my wish list is about make components more customisable to make them real “components”. What would be totally mind blowing would be to be able to export a Figma design system with components and get them directly within WW.

I’d like to see more ready-to-install packages to extend WeWeb. There is so much awesome code out there that we can’t access easily as no-code developers using WeWeb. Perhaps the NPM plugin could be improved so that it only shows packages that work with WeWeb? Right now, I have a 99% failure rate with the NPM plugin. In fact, I’m not sure I’ve ever gotten something to work unless it was an example shared by the WeWeb team.

In a similar vain, I’d also like to be able to add icons in a simple and fully integrated way. I feel like there are still a lot of workarounds to do in WeWeb to meet very basic requirements. I appreciate the focus has to be on AI but I’d like some of the year-old problems to be worked on to.

Documentation. Although improvements have been made in recent months, I think there is still a long way to go. Considering customer support has also been limited, I wish there was more investment into writing documentation and keeping it relevant.

Another request : the support of enums in the Supabase plugin.

Good one. I agree with all points given.

Layout panel : keyboard shortcuts would improve useablility a lot!

So after selecting an element in the Layout panel you can:

  • Key up/down : traversing trough the element tree

  • Command (or option) + R : Rename an element,

  • Command + right(+left) : collapse child elements

  • Command + down(+up) : move down the Layout tree

  • Command + enter : toggle preview mode

Best would be also use the option instead of the command function to prevent internering with native browser (Mac) functions.

I would like the ability to integrate third party plugins, especially a good interactive document editor. (Users can edit a PDF/DOCX/Markdown document using inline Happy to share details of this usacase if someone from the team is interested in learning more.

Right now I am considering migrating away due to this as I have reached the limits of Weweb

Import projects from Github !
