I am currently experimenting a lot with the MCP. I tried the weweb AI a couple of months ago and was very disappointed, my current experience using claude with the MCP is better, not very good yet. Claude has broken some of my workflows before and I have trouble rolling back the changes AI did, but perhaps this is a different issue.
What really bugs me right now when trying to use the MCP is that it doesn’t seem to support using or editing subclasses. Is this right and it is just not supported yet? Is there something I am missing?
Yeah, I’m not surprised. The quality was on and off for a while. It has improved a lot since in case you want to give it another try (both in terms of speed and output quality) but the MCP is definitely a great way to go if you already have a paid subscription with Claude.
We’ll soon be releasing more granular controls of what the AI can and cannot touch (currently you can only prevent it from editing the project’s design system) so hopefully you won’t have that issue anymore in the future.
It’d be interesting to have a bit more information here. Don’t hesitate to create a feedback ticket here with a short video explaining what happened, what you tried, and where you’re stuck.
That’s correct: MCP doesn’t support subclasses yet. We have an open ticket for this but no ETA for now.
