I love weweb, but let’s be honest, somethings their UI and UX is just
The dropdown, select, and multi-select components are always tough to customize and make visually appealing. That’s why I’m building a complete design system that will include these components.
I’m nearly finished building it, but I’d love to hear from you. What would you like to see or do in terms of functionality and visuals? Here’s a preview and some things you’ll be able to do:
- Adjust the width of the selector based on the content.
- Search within the dropdown.
- Select one or more results (with access to the selected items, of course).
- Control the positioning of each element—for example, creating an account dropdown with submenus.
- Use your custom triggers and content.
- Supports on-focus and on-blur events.
By the way, the elements in the video were built using just one component, which will be available to let you create these and even more variations.

interesting! how did you create the component, using all elements and native logic in weweb or with external libs? when do you think it will be available?
I use native logic and elements from weweb, didn’t need any external libs. I had to use a little bit of JS but nothing to fancy. I expect to be available in 20 days. Here’s the full list of components

As a pretty newish beginner i can say that the drop down and multi select was a little difficult to understand in terms of getting it to work for filtering lists etc, Thats only because I am new to this I think… BUT, theres a double edged sword with design, Your drop downs look great, but I think if weweb were to add even more functionality for customization it would make it harder for beginners to get a grasp on.
I like that people like yourself create these tools we can purchase to make the app better, but I also like that weweb isnt going overboard on everything.
Does that make sense?
Or maybe if Weweb wanted they could have dual options, like an advanced drop down and basic, like the file upload.
Either way, great looking drop downs.
Beautiful!
Indeed, we struggled a lot with a full width menu, so it would be great to add that
