Bad performance when moving cards in Kanban

Hi everyone :waving_hand:

Problem

When dragging a card it doesn’t follow the pointer and keeps lagging behind.

I’m not making any heavy calculations or triggering any actions while the the card is being dragged.
The only workflow linked to the Kanban is triggered based On item moved

Appreciate your help.

@mossab hi,

have you tried to clear the logs section inside the editor?

If there are a lot of records everything starts to slow down in preview mode. So if your project big enough you need to clear the logs pretty often.

Hi @Batik_Okazov, thanks for the suggestion.

Yeah I’ve tried that and it didn’t make any difference. The project is still in a very early development stage so I don’t think it has something WeWeb dashboard can’t handle.

Got it.

What exactly is happening when you trigger OnItemMoved? Can you show the workflow?

Sure.
I don’t think the performance issue has anything to do with this workflow because its actions are only triggered after releasing the card.

Couldn’t post multiple images in one reply, here are some extra details

I can confirm that while dragging the card, the only thing that gets logged is “Setting value for isDrragging” so no crazy processing or actions are being triggered.

That’s strange indeed. Don’t have any other guesses.

But the behavior on the video really looks like some heavy process going on.

Thanks for trying to help on this one @Batik_Okazov :folded_hands:

Guess I have to file a bug report for the Weweb team to look into.

not at all. Let me know if you find out the reason. I’m curious

Hi @Batik_Okazov, Weweb’s team mentioned that it’s working fine on their end. I’ve asked another developer friend to test it out, no issues on his end too.

Maybe it has to do with my setup (I’m using Vivaldi 7.1.3570.47 on Linux).
I’m fine with bad dev experience as long at it won’t affect the app users in production .

Oh, so that’s how it is

I use Vivaldi too, but on Windows. Didn’t experience anything like that.
