# Custom element state and position sticky

hi,  
I’m trying to change the state of an input when is focused so i created a custom state but how can i activate it?

and also I’m trying to set a position sticky but is not working, the element have a top set and fixed height

Hi @nicolatoledo.dev ,

Unfortunately, the current states cannot be triggered. We are working on it, it should be completely revamped this summer, so you can trigger states as you like and reuse them easily.

Concerning, the sticky position, we will update this property soon, so it can really work as it should (like the css). For now, could you try to add the sticky value to `menu-wrapper` instead of `Menu`?
